Food Festivals of the World

The World is Full of Beautiful Food.

And I aim to taste me some.

Here are some of the food festivals I hope to see, one day.

The Oregon Truffle Festival   January

The Pacific Northwest has long been a mushroom mecca so why not truffles as well.  Apparently they are just as delicious as their old world counterparts.

Chehalis Garlic Festival  August

All things pertaining to the stinking rose.  Without garlic, food is just boring.

Frida Khalo Diego Riviera Food Festival  March

This is a link to a Saveur article in which I first found out about the artists and their love of food.  Their grandson holds a food festival celebrating their culinary arts.  I can’t seem to find a direct link to the festival itself though.

Poulsbo Viking Festival May

This is a small but festive celebration of Poulsbo’s Norwegian / Viking heritage.  Because we arrived late in the day, we missed the actual Viking food prepared by the Sons of Norway.  Oddly this was the only Viking food available throughout the entire festival.  So, we had to make do with going to the Sluys Poulsbo bakery, picking up a loaf of Poulsbo bread and a Viking Cup.  YUM.
